Emily Keller, DMD
Dr. Emily Keller, originally from Williston, VT, earned a Bachelors of Science in Molecular Genetics from The University of Vermont College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in 2016. She completed her Doctorate in Dental Medicine at The University of Connecticut. While at the UConn she received the Provost Award for Excellence in Public Engagement for her work volunteering in Central America and implementing fluoride treatment programs in the area. A member of the Urban Service Track throughout dental school, Dr. Keller received in depth training on the treatment of at risk populations and underserved communities.
Upon completion of dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC. At this program she specialized in Special Care dentistry and received training in hospital based care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and gained the skills necessary for OR dentistry of this population. Dr. Keller is excited to bring increased access to care for adults with disabilities to Northern VT. In addition, she received training in comprehensive dental care, treating medically complex patients, implant placement, and intensive experience treating trauma patients during residency. Dr. Keller received the Sandra Mitchell Memorial Award from the American Board of General Dentistry in 2021 for her commitment to special care and her development of a customized device to assist individuals with limited range of motion with independent insertion and removal of dentures which was published in the American Journal of Special Care in Dentistry.
Dr. Keller joined Alder Brook Dental Associates in 2021 after Dr. Taher moved back to his native Massachusetts. Having grown up as a patient in the practice, she is eager to return to VT and serve her community. She is a member of the American Dental Society, Vermont State Dental Society, as well as the Special Care Dental Association. In her free time, Dr. Keller enjoys pottery, knitting, running her nonprofit organization in Guatemala, and spending time outdoors.
